EduAsiaNews, Banjarmasin – A religious and convivial atmosphere filled the Baitul Hikmah Mosque at the Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) campus on Monday (August 31, 2026). Hundreds of students, faculty members, and education staff gathered at the mosque to attend the commemoration of the Birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW), organized by the Baitul Hikmah Mosque Management Board at the ULM Campus.

The event was held in collaboration with seven Student Activity Units (UKM) at ULM. This synergy reflected the spirit of togetherness between the mosque management and student organizations in organizing religious activities while strengthening fellowship within the university community.

The Maulid Nabi commemoration featured renowned national religious speaker Ustadzah Hj. Maryamah Ibrahim, S.Pd.I. Her presence was a particular attraction for participants, who enthusiastically followed the series of activities.

The event was also attended by the ULM Vice Rector III, together with members of the ULM academic community. The presence of university leadership demonstrated its support for religious activities as part of efforts to foster students’ character and strengthen their spiritual values.

“Hopefully, the religious activities at this campus mosque will not stop with the Maulid commemoration. This mosque needs to be actively maintained and enlivened,” said Dr. Rusmin.

Hundreds of participants filled the Baitul Hikmah Mosque. Students, faculty members, and education staff took part in the event solemnly, beginning with the recitation of Qur’anic verses and sholawat, followed by a religious lecture delivered by Ustadzah Hj. Maryamah Ibrahim, S.Pd.I.

Baitul Hikmah Mosque Management Board member Dr. Irhmana Husin expressed hope that the event could continue as an annual program and consistently receive support from the university leadership. He also noted that the involvement of Student Activity Units contributed significantly to enhancing the vibrancy of the event.

Through the commemoration of Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday, the Baitul Hikmah Mosque Management Board and the ULM academic community hope that the exemplary values of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) will continue to be implemented in campus life. The event is also expected to serve as an opportunity to strengthen togetherness and foster a religious, harmonious, and character-driven academic environment.
