Carrying the Spirit of “UNNES Bergerak Berdampak,” Universitas Negeri Semarang Officially Opens Its 61st Anniversary Celebration

EduAsiaNews, Semarang – Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) officially inaugurated the series of events commemorating its 61st Dies Natalis on Thursday (12/02/2026). The opening ceremony was held festively at Prof. Dirham Field and the UNNES Rectorate Field under the theme “UNNES Bergerak Berdampak” (UNNES Moves and Makes an Impact).

The event commenced with a parade of faculty members and administrative staff, showcasing unity and the distinctive identity of their respective units. This was followed by a student carnival involving participants from all faculties, the Postgraduate School, and various work units within UNNES. The parade and carnival highlighted diverse aspects of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through creative costumes, attributes, and performance concepts that reflected the spirit of solidarity among the academic community.

In his remarks, the Rector of UNNES, Prof. Dr. S. Martono, M.Si., emphasized that the Dies Natalis serves as both a moment of reflection and a reinforcement of the institution’s commitment.

“This Dies Natalis reminds us all to continually uphold the spirit of innovation and to deliver our best contributions. UNNES must be present and make a meaningful impact on society,” he stated.

As the highlight of the opening ceremony, a community fun walk was आयोजित along a route from Prof. Dirham Field to the UNNES Rectorate Field. Thousands of participants joined the activity with great enthusiasm, further enlivening the celebratory atmosphere.

The event was further enlivened by musical performances and the distribution of numerous attractive door prizes, including motorcycles, electric bicycles, laptops, LED televisions, refrigerators, smartwatches, and hundreds of other prizes. Among the special guests was Hendra Kumbara, a singer, songwriter, and musician who is also an alumnus of the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) of UNNES.

Through this opening ceremony, UNNES officially marked the commencement of its 61st Dies Natalis celebration series, which will feature a variety of academic, artistic, sports, and community service programs as a manifestation of the university’s contribution to sustainable development
