EduAsiaNews, Malang – The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) is once again trusted as a benchmarking institution for other universities in Indonesia. On Monday, April 6, 2026, FIKES UB received a strategic visit from the leadership of the State Islamic University (UIN) of Palangka Raya.
The visit was led directly by the Rector of UIN Palangka Raya, Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Dakhoir, S.H.I., M.H.I., accompanied by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Nasir, M.Pd. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Deanery and the Head of Study Programs at FIKES UB.
The main objective of this working visit was to conduct a comprehensive benchmarking regarding the governance, curriculum, and supporting learning facilities of the Nutrition Science Study Program. This agenda aligns with UIN Palangka Raya’s strategic plan, which is currently preparing to open a Nutrition Science Study Program at their campus.
During the discussion session, Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Dakhoir expressed his appreciation for the progress of FIKES UB and elaborated on the strong reasons behind the plan to establish the program at his institution. He noted that nutritional challenges in his region require direct intervention from local academics and practitioners.
“This Nutrition Science Study Program has excellent prospects for the future. We in Central Kalimantan currently have a massive need for competent Nutritionists to help resolve various health issues and improve the quality of human resources in our region,” Prof. Ahmad Dakhoir emphasized.
Responding to this, FIKES UB welcomed the initiative positively and stated its readiness to share experiences, ranging from the development of a competency-based curriculum and nutrition laboratory standards to the preparation of aligned human resources (lecturers). This exchange of information is expected to provide a comprehensive overview for UIN Palangka Raya in drafting a high-quality study program proposal.
The selection of the FIKES UB Nutrition Science Study Program as a benchmarking destination is closely related to its track record of achievements, including international-level research publications and graduates who have contributed significantly to various national health sectors.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of souvenirs and the hope that communication between the two institutions will continue to flourish. Through this synergy, FIKES UB and UIN Palangka Raya hope to collectively produce outstanding health professionals, particularly Nutritionists, who are ready to serve and contribute to realizing a healthier Indonesia.
