EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — The Association of Indonesian Communication Science Lecturers and Researchers (ADPIKI) has entered into a partnership with PT Global Communication Network Indonesia through its platform, Edu Asia, to strengthen the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi), encompassing education, research, and community service. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Thursday (May 7) as part of efforts to enhance synergy between academia and the communication industry in Indonesia.

Chairman General Heri Budianto stated that the collaboration with Edu Asia represents a strategic step toward expanding opportunities for research downstreaming and strengthening the competencies of communication lecturers and researchers in the era of digital transformation. According to him, higher education institutions cannot operate independently without the support of an industrial ecosystem capable of bridging the implementation of research outcomes and communication innovations for the broader community.

“This collaboration marks an important milestone for ADPIKI in strengthening the role of communication lecturers and researchers so that they not only produce academic studies, but are also able to create tangible impacts for society and the industry,” said Heri.
He further added that strengthening institutional networks is an essential component in improving the quality of higher education, particularly in addressing the challenges posed by media transformation, digital technological advancements, and increasingly complex communication competency demands. Heri noted that the partnership with Edu Asia could open opportunities for the development of joint programs, training initiatives, publications, and cross-sector collaborative research activities.

Meanwhile, President Director Azizie Hanief Azhad stated that through Edu Asia, the company is prepared to support the development of academic capacity and the professionalism of communication practitioners in Indonesia through various educational platforms, media initiatives, and strategic networking programs.

“Synergy between academia and industry has become an essential necessity today. Edu Asia aims to serve as a bridge connecting academic ideas with practical needs in the field, ensuring that research outcomes and lecturers’ insights can provide greater benefits to society,” he said.
The partnership covers various areas of cooperation, including education, research, and community service. The Memorandum of Understanding states that both parties may develop a range of collaborative programs based on mutual needs and agreements to support the improvement of higher education quality and the development of human resources in the field of communication.

ADPIKI itself is a professional organization representing lecturers and researchers in communication science across Indonesia, while Edu Asia operates under PT Global Communication Network Indonesia, a company engaged in communication, media, and educational networking development. Through this collaboration, both parties hope to strengthen the contribution of communication academics in supporting knowledge- and innovation-based national development.
