The presence of Admiral (Ret.) Dr. Ade Supandi was warmly welcomed by the Rector of UPNVJ, Prof. Anter Venus. On the occasion, Prof. Venus expressed his appreciation for Ade Supandi’s willingness to attend and share strategic insights with students and seminar participants.
Prof. Venus also welcomed the diverse perspectives presented during the seminar. According to him, the participation of Admiral (Ret.) Dr. Ade Supandi provided an important practical perspective, particularly in the fields of defense and maritime security. “The issue of the Strait of Hormuz is not only important in academic studies, but is also directly related to Indonesia’s national interests,” said Prof. Venus.
He emphasized that geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East region must be examined critically, as any tension occurring in such a strategic area could impact energy stability, international trade, and global maritime security.
The Strait of Hormuz is widely recognized as one of the world’s most strategic shipping lanes. Therefore, discussions regarding the potential blockade or security disruptions in the region are highly relevant, especially in understanding Indonesia’s position as a maritime nation with strong interests in regional stability and the smooth operation of global trade routes.
Through this seminar featuring Admiral (Ret.) Dr. Ade Supandi as one of the speakers, students and participants were expected to gain a deeper understanding of the strategic position of the Strait of Hormuz within the global geopolitical landscape.
The forum also served as a learning platform for the academic community to analyze the impact of maritime security disruptions on energy stability, international trade, maritime law, and global diplomacy.
By organizing this national seminar, UPNVJ reaffirmed its commitment to providing an academic platform that not only enriches theoretical studies but also broadens practical perspectives on global strategic issues related to Indonesia’s national interests.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
