EduAsiaNews., Jakarta — The implementation of the Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), Limo Campus, Depok, has demonstrated a healthcare service approach that is not only technical in nature but also humanistic. The presence of the health team has been regarded as a crucial factor in maintaining participants’ focus and performance amid the high pressure of the examination.

In an interview conducted on Thursday (April 30), dr. Riri Oktavani Banjarnahor stated that the presence of medical personnel at the UTBK venue represents a tangible form of support, ensuring that participants can undertake the examination without being burdened by concerns regarding their health conditions.

According to her, the sense of security provided is not merely physical but also psychological. With medical personnel on standby, participants are reassured that any emergency situation can be handled promptly and appropriately, thereby enhancing their composure and confidence while completing the test.
“In the midst of intense competition, composure is key. Our presence helps create that condition so participants can fully concentrate on the examination,” she explained.

Furthermore, dr. Riri emphasized that healthcare services during UTBK also represent an implementation of the values of Bela Negara (state defense). She interprets the role of medical personnel as a concrete contribution to improving the quality of Indonesia’s human resources.
“Providing optimal healthcare services means helping ensure that the younger generation can strive to the fullest in pursuing education. This is not merely a medical duty, but also a responsibility toward the nation’s future,” she added.

In practice, the health team frequently encounters a range of participant conditions, from shortness of breath due to asthma to digestive issues such as epigastric pain. The treatments administered are generally simple—such as oxygen support, brief rest periods, or symptomatic therapy—but have a significant impact on participants’ ability to continue the examination.
“Actions that may seem minor often determine whether a participant can proceed with the exam or not. That is where we see that our role, no matter how small, can have a substantial impact,” she noted.

To maintain a balance between the strict regulations of UTBK and the needs of participants, the health team prioritizes effective communication and professionalism in their work. An empathetic and supportive approach is key to delivering care without disrupting the examination process.
“We continue to respect the applicable regulations, but services are delivered in a calm, friendly, and humanistic manner so that participants feel understood,” she concluded.

Through this approach, the implementation of UTBK at UPNVJ not only upholds the credibility of the examination but also ensures that each participant receives adequate support to perform at their best.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
