EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – A student of the Undergraduate Communication Science Program at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), Class of 2025, Ilham Muhammad, has achieved a remarkable accomplishment by being selected as a Google Student Ambassador (GSA) 2026. Currently in his second semester, Ilham successfully passed a highly competitive selection process, competing against 81,000 applicants from universities across Indonesia. He was chosen as one of 2,000 students entrusted with the mission of serving as an official representative of Google within the university environment. This achievement further strengthens the position of FISIP UPNVJ students in the national landscape of digital talent competition.
The GSA program is an official initiative by Google designed to build a communication bridge between the global technology company and academic communities in higher education institutions. As a campus ambassador, Ilham carries the primary responsibility of introducing various technological innovations relevant to academic needs. The main focus of this role is to enhance the digital skills of fellow students, particularly within the Communication Science Program and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), enabling them to be more competitive in the era of technological transformation.
During his one-semester term of service, a Google Student Ambassador will carry out a series of strategic initiatives, including organizing seminars, presentations, and outreach activities on the latest technologies. One of the priority topics to be promoted is the utilization of Gemini AI as a tool to support student productivity and research. All assignment details and activity schedules will be managed progressively through direct coordination with Google to ensure the effective implementation of technology within the UPNVJ environment.
This achievement is expected to enhance the reputation of the study program and faculty in the development of information technology–based human resources. To support the successful implementation of the program, the faculty is expected to provide facilities and infrastructure, including ease of access to classrooms or auditoriums for workshops. Through this collaboration, FISIP UPNVJ students are expected to gain broader access to digital literacy and the utilization of artificial intelligence to support both academic and professional achievements.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
