EduAsiaNews, Lampung – Universitas Lampung (Unila) welcomed a field assessment by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Agricultural Sciences (LAM PTIP) for its Agricultural Engineering Study Program under the Faculty of Agriculture on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026. The assessment took place on the second floor of the Faculty of Agriculture’s Dean’s Office Building and formed part of the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen academic quality, enhance graduate relevance, and improve the competitiveness of higher education in agriculture.

The event was officially opened by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Eng. Suripto Dwi Yuwono, S.Si., M.T., who attended on behalf of the rector. In his remarks, Prof. Suripto emphasized that accreditation was both an academic and public responsibility, ensuring that educational programs maintained high standards and produced graduates and scholarly work that benefited society.

“For Universitas Lampung, accreditation is part of our academic and public responsibility. Through this process, we ensure that the education we provide has a clear direction, is delivered to high standards, and produces graduates and scholarly work that benefit society,” he said.

Prof. Suripto explained that the field assessment offered an opportunity to examine the alignment between a study program’s planning, implementation and achievements. The process was also expected to identify areas requiring further improvement to ensure that the program’s development remained focused and sustainable.

He noted that the Agricultural Engineering Study Program played a strategic role in supporting agricultural transformation through technological innovation, mechanization, water and land management, and post-harvest technology development to strengthen food security and promote sustainable energy.

Prof. Suripto also commended the Faculty of Agriculture’s efforts to improve academic quality through curriculum updates, faculty competency development, enhanced learning facilities, stronger research activities and expanded partnerships. He expressed hope that the assessment would produce an objective evaluation and constructive recommendations for the study program’s development.

The field assessment involved two LAM PTIP assessors: Prof. Dr. Ir. Feri Kusnandar, M.Sc., from IPB University, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Musthofa Lutfi, M.P., IPM., from Brawijaya University. The assessment was conducted over three days, from Oct. 15 to 17, 2026.

Through the assessment, Unila expects to receive an objective evaluation and constructive recommendations to strengthen achievements and support continuous improvement. Faculty and study program administrators were also encouraged to participate professionally and transparently throughout the process, supported by reliable and verifiable data and evidence.

Universitas Lampung remains committed to improving academic quality, developing human resources, providing adequate learning facilities and strengthening partnerships relevant to the needs of its study programs.

The LAM PTIP field assessment of the Agricultural Engineering Study Program is expected to serve as an opportunity to improve educational quality, expand the contribution of science and technology to the agricultural sector, and strengthen the role of Unila’s Faculty of Agriculture in supporting sustainable food security and energy.
