Yohanes Selo Malau, a student of the undergraduate International Relations Study Program, won a gold medal at the Rakyard Rumble x Piala Panglima TNI 2026 amateur boxing championship.

The achievement represents a significant accomplishment for Yohanes while demonstrating that UPNVJ students are capable of competing not only in academic fields but also in various competitive sports.
Rakyard Rumble x Piala Panglima TNI is an amateur boxing championship held to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the Indonesian Military (TNI). Organized by Sadasport, the event featured the 2026 Panglima TNI Cup and Championship Belt as its prizes.
The championship provided participants with an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities while upholding the values of sportsmanship, courage, discipline and determination. The bouts brought together young people and military personnel in a competitive atmosphere that tested physical and mental resilience as well as honor in the ring.
For Yohanes, bringing home the gold medal was a testament to his courage in facing challenges and maintaining focus throughout the bout. Facing an opponent from one of Indonesia’s prominent universities presented an additional challenge in the fight for the top position.
Yohanes’ achievement further strengthens the record of UPNVJ students in various sports competitions. The spirit of continuous improvement, courage to compete and commitment to sportsmanship is in line with the Bela Negara character that serves as an identity of UPNVJ.
Through this achievement, Yohanes is expected to inspire other students to continue exploring their potential, seize opportunities and bring pride to UPNVJ through achievements at broader levels.
His gold-medal victory at Rakyard Rumble x Piala Panglima TNI 2026 is not merely a personal accomplishment but also represents the spirit of a resilient, disciplined and sportsmanlike younger generation that is ready to face challenges.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
