EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Three female students from the Undergraduate Information Systems Study Program, Faculty of Computer Science (FIK), Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), won third place in the UI/UX Design Competition at IT FEST 2026, organized by Universitas Brawijaya in Malang. The three students are Zelda Meutia Said (Student ID 2310512171), Raisadevi Ayunda Putri (Student ID 2310512151), and Aydie Rahma (Student ID 2310512023). The achievement was earned through a design project presented at a national-level technology competition that brought together students from various higher education institutions across Indonesia.
IT FEST 2026 was organized by the Student Family of the Information Systems Department (KBMDSI), Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya. Carrying the theme “Advancing National Innovation through Digital Excellence,” the event provided a platform for students to develop their creativity, innovation, collaborative skills, and competencies in digital technology.
IT FEST 2026 featured three competition categories: UI/UX Design, Business Plan, and Digital Media Learning. In the UI/UX Design category, participants were challenged to design innovative, intuitive, and functional user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX). Participants were also required to identify problems and translate them into digital solutions relevant to users’ needs.
The FIK UPNVJ Undergraduate Information Systems team demonstrated these capabilities through a process encompassing idea development, research, design development, and project presentation. Collaboration among the three team members played an important role in addressing the competition challenges and presenting the solution they developed.
Zelda Meutia Said said that winning third place was a valuable experience for the team, particularly in understanding the process of transforming an idea into a design solution.
“For us, winning third place was a very meaningful experience. Throughout the competition, we learned how to develop an idea into a design solution that is not only visually appealing but can also provide a positive user experience. We also learned the importance of communication and task distribution within a team,” Zelda said.
Raisadevi Ayunda Putri viewed the competition as an opportunity for the team to hone its skills while learning from the work of other participants.
“This competition gave us an opportunity to sharpen our UI/UX skills while also learning from the work of other participants. We are certainly grateful to have represented UPNVJ and won third place. This achievement motivates us to continue learning and produce better work,” Raisadevi said.
Meanwhile, Aydie Rahma said that participating in the competition provided valuable experience in bringing ideas together, conducting research, developing designs, and preparing presentations.
“We are very happy and grateful for the results we achieved. The process was certainly not easy, as we had to bring our ideas together, conduct research, develop the design, and prepare the presentation. Through this process, we gained many valuable lessons that will serve as a foundation for participating in future competitions and developing our subsequent projects,” Aydie said.
The achievement adds to the record of accomplishments by FIK UPNVJ students while demonstrating the application of competencies acquired during the learning process to digital projects. National-level competitions also provide students with opportunities to test their ideas, broaden their experience, and interact with participants from various higher education institutions.
The achievement of the FIK UPNVJ Undergraduate Information Systems team at IT FEST 2026 is in line with UPNVJ’s efforts to encourage students to develop their competencies, creativity, and innovation.
