EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (FK UPNVJ) is strengthening the continuity of its international partnership with the Faculty of Medicine of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) through a meeting held on Thursday (September 3, 2026). The meeting discussed plans to renew the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) serving as the foundation for cooperation between the two institutions, while also exploring opportunities to expand collaboration in education, research, academic activities, and human resource capacity development. The initiative is intended to ensure that the partnership between FK UPNVJ and UiTM continues to grow through programs that provide benefits to the academic communities of both universities.
The meeting resulted in an initial agreement to continue the partnership and follow up on the MoU renewal process. The two institutions also discussed opportunities to develop joint academic activities as a step toward strengthening their established institutional relationship.
Representing the Faculty of Medicine UiTM, the meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hazlyna Baharuddin, Deputy Dean of Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Dr. Rosfaiizah Siran, and other faculty representatives. Meanwhile, the FK UPNVJ delegation was led by Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of UPN “Veteran” Jakarta, Dr. dr. Taufiq Fredrik Pasiak, M.Kes., M.Pd.I., S.H., M.H., CIPA, accompanied by members of the FK UPNVJ Dean’s Office.
During the meeting, FK UPNVJ and UiTM emphasized that the MoU renewal should not be viewed merely as an administrative continuation but as a foundation for expanding cooperation that can be implemented through academic programs and activities. The collaboration is directed toward strengthening education and research, facilitating the exchange of academic knowledge and experience, and developing the capacities of faculty members and students.
The continuity of the partnership is important because inter-university collaboration enables both institutions to share experiences, academic practices, and expertise in the development of medical education. The network also creates opportunities for more productive joint activities that are relevant to the needs of higher education and developments in health sciences.
For FK UPNVJ, strengthening its relationship with UiTM is also part of its efforts to expand its academic network across Southeast Asia. International partnerships are expected to enhance the academic experiences of members of the university community while creating opportunities for research collaboration that brings together the competencies and resources of both institutions.
With this direction, the renewal of the MoU between FK UPNVJ and UiTM is expected to provide a foundation for programs that are increasingly measurable, productive, and sustainable.
