EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) is finalizing preparations for its 77th Graduation Ceremony for Diploma, Undergraduate, Professional, and Master’s Programs through the phased distribution of academic gowns to prospective graduates from September 7–10, 2026. Head of the UPNVJ Academic Affairs Division, Oki Putra Budiarahman, S.H., directly monitored the gown collection services at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium, 4th Floor, Jenderal Sudirman Building, UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus, on Tuesday (September 8, 2026). The monitoring was conducted to ensure that all procedures were carried out in an orderly manner ahead of the graduation ceremony scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Senayan, Jakarta.
On the second day, gown collection was designated for prospective graduates of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). Based on the latest participant allocation provided by the UPNVJ Academic Affairs Division, FISIP will send 492 graduates to the 77th Graduation Ceremony.
The figure comprises 190 graduates from the Undergraduate Communication Science Program, 156 from the Undergraduate International Relations Program, 100 from the Undergraduate Political Science Program, 18 from the Undergraduate Information Science Program, 25 from the Master’s Program in Communication Science, two from the Master’s Program in International Relations, and one from the Master’s Program in Political Science.
Oki said that scheduling gown collection by faculty and study program was implemented to ensure efficient service for prospective graduates and prevent overcrowding during the collection process.
“We have arranged gown collection according to faculty and study program to ensure a more orderly process and prevent overcrowding. We are also conducting direct monitoring to ensure that the administrative procedures through to the distribution of graduation attire are carried out properly,” said Oki.
According to Oki, gown collection is an important stage in ensuring that prospective graduates are fully prepared before participating in the graduation ceremony. In addition to receiving their graduation attire, all prospective graduates must ensure that they have fulfilled all administrative requirements.
“We hope all prospective graduates will follow the designated schedule and pay close attention to all requirements communicated by the university. With thorough preparation beginning with gown collection, we hope the graduation ceremony at JICC will proceed smoothly, orderly, and comfortably for both graduates and their families,” he said.
Gown collection began on Monday (September 7) for the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and the Faculty of Medicine (FK), followed by FISIP on Tuesday (September 8). The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) and Faculty of Law (FH) are scheduled for Wednesday (September 9), while the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) and Faculty of Engineering (FT) will take their turn on Thursday (September 10).
Prospective graduates are required to present proof of settlement of student financial obligations, proof of library clearance, and proof of having uploaded their academic work to the university repository before collecting their graduation attire. This arrangement forms part of UPNVJ’s efforts to ensure that all academic and administrative requirements have been fulfilled prior to the graduation ceremony.
The 77th UPNVJ Graduation Ceremony will be attended by 1,943 graduates from seven faculties and will be held in two sessions. A total of 1,027 graduates are scheduled to attend the morning session, comprising 400 graduates from FEB, 135 from FK, and 492 from FISIP. The afternoon session will be attended by 916 graduates, comprising 177 graduates from the Faculty of Engineering, 259 from the Faculty of Computer Science, 169 from the Faculty of Law, and 311 from the Faculty of Health Sciences. The first session will run from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB), while the second session is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 5:20 p.m.
