The closing ceremony, held at the KH. DR. Idham Chalid Hall in Amuntai, marked the completion of the approximately 40-day community service period undertaken by 347 Faperta ULM students across several subdistricts and villages in HSU Regency since their official deployment on July 27, 2026.

The closing ceremony was attended by HSU Deputy Regent Hero Setiawan, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at ULM Prof. Ahmad Rizaly Saidi and his leadership team, KKN-Internship participants, as well as officials from the HSU Regency Government, including heads of several government agencies and other invited guests.

In his remarks, Deputy Regent Hero Setiawan said that the KKN and internship programs provided students with opportunities to gain firsthand experience from farmers, business operators, and village governments, while also enabling them to engage with real-world challenges in the field.

“The KKN and internship programs undertaken by students of the Faculty of Agriculture at ULM in several villages across HSU provided them with opportunities to learn directly from farmers, business operators, and village governments. At the same time, we hope that local communities will benefit from the ideas and innovations they bring,” said Hero Setiawan.

He added that student innovations were expected to create tangible benefits for local communities, particularly in supporting the agricultural sector in HSU. “We hope that the innovations produced by the students can help increase productivity, develop businesses, manage resources sustainably, and enhance the added value of our communities’ agricultural products,” he added.

Deputy Regent Hero Setiawan also expressed his appreciation for the students’ dedication throughout their community service. “Your work and contributions will be remembered forever,” he said.

HSU Regent H. Sahrujani was unable to attend the ceremony in person as he had to attend an official engagement outside the region. Nevertheless, he conveyed his appreciation and gratitude to all parties involved. “To all the students who have devoted themselves to serving the community, I would like to express my highest appreciation and gratitude. May the knowledge and experience you have gained in HSU serve as valuable assets for your future,” said Sahrujani in a written address read during the closing ceremony.

On the same occasion, all invited guests also expressed their appreciation to Regent H. Sahrujani for HSU Regency’s achievement of second place in the regional Kalimantan category for access to and provision of healthcare services.

Meanwhile, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at ULM, Prof. Ahmad Rizaly Saidi, said that this year’s KKN-Internship implementation was the best of the five editions conducted over the past five years as part of the Faculty of Agriculture’s Thematic KKN Program. “This is the best implementation of the KKN-Internship Program among the five editions of the Faculty of Agriculture ULM’s Thematic KKN Program held over the past five years,” said Prof. Rizaly.

The closing ceremony also featured the announcement of the winners of the Appropriate Technology Competition at the Hulu Sungai Utara Regency level, as well as the announcement of the best exhibition booth among KKN-Internship participants. These awards served as recognition of the innovations developed by students throughout their community service period.

The event marked the conclusion of the 2026 Faperta ULM MBKM Recognition KKN-Internship Program, which had been carried out across various subdistricts and villages throughout Hulu Sungai Utara since late July.
