The achievement was made even more meaningful by the fact that the award was received during a significant national occasion, reflecting the spirit of perseverance, creativity, and the contributions of the younger generation to the nation.

EduAsiaNews, Bangka — Another remarkable achievement has been accomplished by a student of Universitas Bangka Belitung (UBB). Fadhil Hidayat, a student of the Faculty of Law with Student Identification Number (NIM) 4012311082, won first place in the Educational Video Competition on Countering IRET, organized by the Bangka Belitung Regional Office of the Indonesian National Police’s Densus 88 Anti-Terrorism Unit.

The competition served as a platform for young people to express their creativity while delivering educational messages aimed at preventing intolerance, radicalism, extremism, and terrorism (IRET), particularly through the use of digital media.

The competition officially began on July 21, 2026, with the publication of the competition announcement. Participants were then given the opportunity to prepare and submit their video entries until the submission deadline on August 10, 2026.

For the competition, Fadhil and his team addressed the theme “Creative Youth Initiatives: Creating Peaceful Content to Counter Radical Propaganda” through a video entitled “ONE CLICK, TWO CHOICES.”

Through their work, Fadhil and his team conveyed a message about the importance of being wise when receiving, filtering, and sharing information on social media. The video illustrates how a seemingly simple decision in the digital space can have significant consequences.

“Through the video, we tried to convey the importance of being wise in receiving and sharing information on social media, particularly how one small decision can have a significant impact,” said Fadhil.

To produce the video, Fadhil and his team went through several stages of preparation, from developing the concept and filming to the editing process. All stages were carried out collaboratively, emphasizing creativity, teamwork, and attention to detail.

“My team and I prepared everything from developing the concept and filming the video to the editing process. Alhamdulillah, our efforts resulted in us winning first place,” he said.

Following the judging process, Fadhil and his team were declared the first-place winners. The winners were announced on August 17, 2026, coinciding with the celebration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

The achievement was particularly meaningful as the award was presented during a significant national occasion characterized by the spirit of struggle, creativity, and the contribution of young people to the nation.

The award ceremony took place at the Mahligai Serumpun Sebalai Building in Pangkalpinang and was presented directly by the Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands, Dr. (H.C.) Hidayat Arsani, S.E. The occasion served as a form of appreciation for the creativity and contributions of young people in promoting messages of peace and helping prevent the spread of radical propaganda through digital media.

For Fadhil, the achievement was both a source of pride and a valuable experience. He attributed the success to the hard work and strong teamwork of all members of the team.

“For me, this achievement is certainly a great source of pride and a valuable experience. I am grateful that our hard work as a team has produced such a positive result,” he said.

Beyond the award itself, Fadhil said that participating in the competition provided him with valuable lessons, particularly about the importance of creativity, teamwork, and the courage to try new things.

“In addition to achieving this accomplishment, the competition also taught me the importance of creativity, teamwork, and the courage to try new things. I hope this experience will motivate me to continue creating and to bring pride to UBB,” he concluded.

Fadhil and his team’s achievement demonstrates that UBB students are capable of harnessing creativity and digital media to produce work that is not only competitive but also provides educational value and positive messages to the community.

Through “ONE CLICK, TWO CHOICES,” Fadhil and his team have also demonstrated that young people play a strategic role in creating a healthy, peaceful, critical, and responsible digital environment while working together to counter the spread of radical propaganda.
