EduAsiaNews, Jimbaran – A total of 6,799 participants took part in the Prabhu Udayana 2026 Orientation Program for New Students (PKKMB), which was officially inaugurated by Universitas Udayana Rector, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Jimbaran Campus, on Saturday (1 August 2026).
Prior to the opening of PKKMB, Universitas Udayana held the Inauguration Ceremony for New Diploma and Undergraduate Students for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, officially inducting 6,610 newly enrolled students who had completed the registration process. The difference between the number of inaugurated students and PKKMB participants is due to the broader scope of the orientation program. The inauguration ceremony was attended exclusively by the 6,610 students who had officially registered as new students for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, whereas the PKKMB welcomed 6,799 participants, including newly admitted students as well as students from previous cohorts who had not previously participated in the orientation program.
In his report, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ir. I Nengah Sujaya, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., stated that public interest in pursuing higher education at Universitas Udayana remains exceptionally strong. In 2026, the university received 38,812 applications through the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), the National Selection Based on Test (SNBT), and the Universitas Udayana Independent Admission Scheme. Following the selection and administrative verification process, 6,610 students were officially admitted, comprising 6,385 undergraduate students and 225 diploma students.
In his welcoming address, the Rector congratulated all newly admitted students on becoming members of the Universitas Udayana community. He emphasized that entering university marks the beginning of a journey to develop intellectual capacity, character, integrity, and a strong commitment to serving society.
“On behalf of the entire leadership of Universitas Udayana, I warmly welcome you to our academic community. Welcome to a university that will shape you into individuals who are not only academically accomplished but also possess strong character, integrity in every action, and genuine concern for society and the environment,” the Rector said.
The Rector further stressed that Universitas Udayana continues to pursue institutional transformation through improvements in education, research, community service, digital transformation, and internationalization in order to produce graduates capable of addressing the challenges of the future.
“Universitas Udayana does not aspire to produce graduates who are merely job-ready. We aim to nurture graduates who can create employment opportunities, generate innovation, become leaders of change, and make meaningful contributions to society. Therefore, I encourage all new students to become agents of change who create positive impacts on their communities, the nation, and the world,” he emphasized.
The Rector also underscored the importance of fostering a campus environment that is safe, inclusive, and grounded in academic integrity. He encouraged all students to reject all forms of violence, bullying, discrimination, intolerance, and sexual harassment, while upholding the university’s reputation through excellence and integrity.
Meanwhile, Chair of the Prabhu Udayana 2026 PKKMB Organizing Committee, Dr. I Made Sukewijaya, S.P., M.Sc., reported that this year’s orientation program was attended by 6,799 participants, consisting of newly admitted students for the 2026 cohort, students from previous cohorts who had not yet completed PKKMB, and international-class students. Students from previous cohorts participated online, while newly admitted and international-class students attended the program on campus.
He explained that PKKMB serves as an essential platform to facilitate students’ transition into independent, responsible, and socially engaged members of the academic community. Throughout the two-day program, participants receive sessions on national identity and state defense, Indonesia’s higher education system, higher education in the digital era, student character development, and Universitas Udayana’s local values. The sessions are delivered by speakers from Universitas Udayana, the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office, and two public figures.
The Prabhu Udayana 2026 PKKMB continues on Sunday (2 August 2026) with activities focused on introducing students to campus life. New students will enjoy performances by Student Activity Units (UKM), followed by introductions to university-level student organizations, including the Student Representative Council (DPM) and the Student Executive Board (BEM), as well as student organizations from all 13 faculties.
The program will also feature Suara Ksatria (The Voice of 13 Faculties for Udayana), showcasing the spirit and identity of each faculty, before concluding with Abhinaya Nusantara, Universitas Udayana’s cultural performance, the Rector’s closing remarks, the formal handover of students to their respective faculty deans, and the Kayon Withdrawal Ceremony, symbolizing the official conclusion of Prabhu Udayana PKKMB 2026.
Through Prabhu Udayana 2026, Universitas Udayana hopes that all participants will successfully adapt to university life, embrace the institution’s core values, and develop into graduates who are excellent, independent, culturally grounded, and globally competitive, in line with the university’s vision.
