EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (FK UPNVJ) has signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with BPJS Kesehatan Regional Office IV to implement a pilot project for the Community Chronic Disease Management Program (Community Prolanis). The agreement was signed in Jakarta on Thursday, July 9, 2026, as a collaborative initiative to strengthen promotive and preventive healthcare services for the university’s academic community.
Under the agreement, FK UPNVJ has been designated as the pilot site for the implementation of the Community Prolanis program, involving faculty members, administrative staff, and students. The program is designed to support the management of chronic diseases—particularly diabetes mellitus and hypertension—through health education, physical activity, regular health monitoring, and continuous participant assistance.
The agreement was signed by dr. Yessi Kumalasari, M.P.H., AAAK., Deputy Regional Director of BPJS Kesehatan Regional Office IV, and Dr. dr. Taufiq Fredrik Pasiak, M.Kes., M.Pd.I., M.H., CIPA, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, UPNVJ. The collaboration forms part of BPJS Kesehatan Regional Office IV’s initiative to develop the Community Prolanis program as an innovative community-based healthcare model.
Community Prolanis is a group-based chronic disease management program for participants living with chronic conditions, particularly diabetes mellitus and hypertension. It includes health education, physical exercise, health status monitoring, and other supporting activities aimed at improving participants’ quality of life effectively and efficiently.
Through this agreement, FK UPNVJ and BPJS Kesehatan will coordinate the implementation of the Community Prolanis program by optimizing the resources of both institutions and managing the exchange of information and data in accordance with applicable regulations. The scope of cooperation also includes the involvement of faculty members, administrative staff, and students in health education, health screening, participant assistance, research, and community service activities.
For FK UPNVJ, the partnership not only expands the faculty’s contribution to public health but also provides valuable experiential learning opportunities for lecturers and students. The implementation of Community Prolanis will further support the university’s Tri Dharma of Higher Education by integrating education, research, and community service activities that address real community health needs.
Under the agreement, BPJS Kesehatan Regional Office IV will provide participant registration templates, designate the supervising Primary Healthcare Facilities (FKTPs), and coordinate with the South Jakarta Branch Office in organizing program outreach activities. BPJS Kesehatan will also conduct regular monitoring and evaluation to ensure that the program is implemented effectively and achieves its intended objectives.
Meanwhile, FK UPNVJ will be responsible for providing data and information on prospective participants from among faculty members, administrative staff, and students; facilitating program socialization activities; and arranging schedules and venues for health history screening and Community Prolanis activities. The faculty will also coordinate the involvement of members of the academic community based on their expertise, program requirements, and applicable regulations.
Medical ethics, medicolegal considerations, participant safety, and the confidentiality of personal data constitute key priorities in implementing this collaboration. Both parties have agreed to safeguard participant information in compliance with prevailing laws and regulations throughout the processes of registration, screening, participant assistance, and program evaluation.
The Community Prolanis Cooperation Agreement is effective from July 9, 2026, through December 31, 2026, and may be extended upon mutual agreement. During this period, FK UPNVJ and BPJS Kesehatan will conduct periodic monitoring and evaluation to ensure that the program remains effective, measurable, and beneficial for all participants.
UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A.Comm., stated that the partnership reflects the university’s commitment to strengthening the role of higher education institutions in improving public health. Through the Faculty of Medicine, UPNVJ continues to promote strategic collaborations that generate tangible benefits, not only for its academic community but also for the advancement of healthcare models centered on education, prevention, and community engagement.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
