EduAsiaNews, Bandung – Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) has once again affirmed its leadership at the forefront of higher education digital transformation in Indonesia. During the Google for Education AI Learning Lab – Higher Education, held at the Google Indonesia Office, Pacific Century Place Tower SCBD, Jakarta, on Thursday, 26 February 2026, Unpad distinguished itself not merely as a participant, but as both keynote contributor and national champion.

The Unpad delegation was led by Dr. Intan Nurma Yulita, Head of the Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation, accompanied by representatives from the Directorate of Planning, Information Systems, and Digital Transformation (DPSITD): Rafly, S.Si. (Coordinator of IT Services & Partnership Relations) and Firman Ramdhani, S.Tr.Kom. (IT Governance and Partnership Relations Analyst).

The event served as a strategic forum for leaders of public and private universities across Indonesia to shape the future of academia within the Google ecosystem. The presence of global figures such as Sapna Chadha (VP Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier) and Felix Goh (Gemini Adoption Lead, Southeast Asia & Greater China) further underscored the exclusivity and significance of the occasion.

On the main stage, Unpad was honored through Dr. Intan Nurma Yulita’s expert presentation titled “Leveraging AI Tools for Enhanced Learning Effectiveness.” She elaborated on Unpad’s strategic architecture for integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop a learning ecosystem that is adaptive, efficient, and globally impactful for both students and educators.

A historic milestone was marked with the announcement of the Gemini Academy for Higher Education competition, which involved 394 public and private universities from 35 provinces across Indonesia. Unpad achieved outstanding distinction by securing:

First Place Nationally in the category The Institution with the Highest Number of Gemini Certified Faculty, affirming Unpad’s national leadership in AI literacy and implementation.

First Place Nationally (Individual Category – Gemini AI Adoption), awarded to Firman Ramdhani, S.Tr.Kom., demonstrating the exceptional individual talent within Unpad.

This remarkable achievement reflects strong cross-unit collaboration within Unpad, involving DPSITD, the Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation (PIPP), the Center for Knowledge and Skills Development of Education Personnel, and the Directorate of Student Affairs.

The accomplishment is further reinforced by the fact that 398 lecturers, education staff, and students from Unpad have successfully obtained international Gemini AI certification. This figure signifies Unpad’s substantial readiness in embracing the era of Intelligence-Driven Education.

This milestone is expected to accelerate Unpad’s continued leadership in advanced technology integration, enhance research quality, and strengthen globally competitive educational services.
