EduAsiaNews Jakarta – Graduates of Universitas Siber Asia (Unsia) are encouraged to become pioneers in the era of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) by combining technological sophistication with human values.

This was conveyed by Unsia Rector, Jang Youn Cho, during the graduation ceremony for 879 students on Sunday, January 18, 2026. A total of 367 graduates attended in person, while 495 others joined virtually from various countries, including Malaysia, Taiwan, and Saudi Arabia.

“Do not merely be ‘users’ of the future; be ‘innovators’ of the future,” Jang Youn Cho said. He added that the use of artificial intelligence should be directed toward enhancing empathy and human-centered services.

During the event, Unsia was announced as a hub for the World University Ranking for Innovation (WURI) in Indonesia and revealed plans to become the first Google Reference University in the country.

The rector also introduced the national program Transmigrasi Patriot 2026, which combines the Patriot Expedition Team and the Patriot Scholarship (Master’s) to develop economically independent and research-based productive transmigration areas. The program targets 1,000 scholarship recipients to pursue 18 months of study, including thesis research and community service in 154 transmigration sites across Indonesia.

“You must become solution-oriented practitioners who combine expertise in informatics, communication, and management to solve real-world problems,” stated Henri Togar Hasiholan Tambunan, Head of the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDikti) Region III.

Earlier this year, Unsia officially launched a new Information Technology undergraduate program through distance learning, in accordance with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Decree No. 1198/B/O/2025. This program allows students to pursue higher education fully online, both domestically and internationally.

Henri emphasized that the new program aims not only to increase student enrollment but also to enhance curriculum quality, human resources, learning systems, and sustainable quality assurance.

This achievement affirms Unsia’s position as a fully digital university that adapts to global digital transformation, while strengthening its role in preparing highly skilled human resources in the technology sector.
