EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), in collaboration with national news portal Aktual.com and Sekolah Negarawan, held a campus roadshow titled “Goes to Campus” on Tuesday (13/1). The event provided a forum for students to strengthen media literacy while deepening their understanding of national and civic issues.

The inaugural roadshow took place at the Faculty of Medicine Building, UPNVJ, Pondok Labu, South Jakarta. Around 40 participants attended, including UPNVJ students and lecturers, as well as students from Politeknik Negeri Jakarta (PNJ) and several other universities. The discussion carried the theme “Understanding New Ways of Viewing the State for Generation Z”, encouraging critical engagement with contemporary national issues in the digital era.

The Goes to Campus program is part of Aktual.com’s broader initiative to visit ten public and private universities across the Greater Jakarta area from January to November 2026. Through interactive discussions, the program aims to raise awareness among young people of the importance of understanding constitutional and governance structures as a foundation for national progress.

The discussion was moderated by Dr. Asep Kamaluddin Nashir, M.Si, and featured speakers including Maliki, Ph.D, Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UPNVJ; Rinto Setyawan, Deputy Director of Sekolah Negarawan; Rizal Maulana, Editor-in-Chief of Aktual.com; and Prayogi R. Saputra, Director of Sekolah Negarawan. The speakers shared perspectives on media literacy and constitutional thought, highlighting the strategic role of Generation Z in contributing to national improvement through a renewed understanding of the state.

During the session, Sekolah Negarawan emphasized its role as an independent think tank that promotes educational approaches focused on structural solutions to national challenges. Meanwhile, Aktual.com underscored its commitment to expanding media literacy among university students, in line with efforts to improve the quality of information in the digital age.

UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm welcomed the collaboration as part of the university’s policy to strengthen external partnerships and student character development. He noted that such activities align with UPNVJ’s identity as a State Defense Campus (Kampus Bela Negara).

“Activities like this encourage students not only to be critical of information, but also to actively contribute to Indonesia’s progress through a deeper understanding of national issues,” Anter Venus said.

He expressed hope that the roadshow would continue at other campuses and serve as a catalyst for broader exchanges of ideas, enriching young people’s perspectives as they face future challenges.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
