EduAsiaNews, Surabaya — The Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Brawijaya has strengthened its international engagement by signing a cooperation agreement with Pioneer House of the National University of Singapore (PH NUS) to continue the International Student Inbound Mobility Program, known as the Southeast Asia Friendship Initiative (SFI) Course.

The Head of the Industrial Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya, and initiator of the program, Prof. Sugiono, expressed optimism that the collaboration would foster broader partnerships, including joint international conferences, collaborative research activities, and academic publications.

“We hope this cooperation will open up greater opportunities for collaboration. We also extend our sincere appreciation for the full support provided by Universitas Brawijaya,” he said in a statement in Surabaya on Tuesday.

Prior to the signing ceremony, the NUS delegation met with Universitas Brawijaya’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Imam Santoso, along with representatives from the International Academic Affairs Unit and the Reputation Unit, to explore potential avenues for academic collaboration.

The program featured a range of activities, including field trips, workshops, group discussions, and panel presentations under the theme “SDGs in Action: Innovate, Empower, Transform.” These activities were designed to encourage students to develop a deeper understanding of real-world challenges related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In addition, participants took part in on-site visits to various cultural and social landmarks, such as Singosari Temple, the Kayutangan Heritage Area, Soendari Batik, Ngroto Village, Matahati Ceramics, Karangkates Dam, and Mount Bromo. (**)
