Bank Muamalat Signs MoU with UBB, Distributes Scholarships for Underprivileged Students

Bangka Belitung University (UBB) established a collaboration with Bank Muamalat through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which took place at Balai Betason Satu, the UBB Rectorate Building. This cooperation reflects the commitment of both parties to strengthening educational support, particularly through the provision of scholarships for underprivileged UBB students.

Edu Asia New, Universitas bangka Belitung (UBB)The MoU was signed directly by the Branch Manager of Bank Muamalat, Abdul Kadir Jailani, S.E., and on behalf of the university by the Vice Rector for Planning, Information Systems, and Cooperation of UBB, Dr. Hamsani, S.E., M.Sc.

Several officials were also in attendance at the event, including the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau (BAKK) of UBB, Hesty, M.Pd.; the Head of the Student and Alumni Services Working Team, Harli, S.Kom.; the Head of the Cooperation and Public Relations Working Team, Made Muncul S., S.A.P.; as well as representatives from Bank Muamalat, namely Ricci Putri Pratiwi (Priority Relationship Manager) and Siti Fitriana (Funding & Hajj Relationship Manager).

In his remarks, Dr. Hamsani expressed his appreciation to Bank Muamalat for its commitment to supporting education at UBB. “The provision of these scholarships is extremely helpful for students who face financial limitations but demonstrate strong academic achievement,” said Dr. Hamsani.

He further expressed hope that this collaboration would bring broad benefits to both parties and serve as the beginning of a larger partnership in the future. Meanwhile, in his address, Abdul Kadir Jailani conveyed his gratitude for the warm reception from UBB. He emphasized that the cooperation extends beyond financial aspects. “Going forward, we also aim to collaborate in the field of Islamic education by introducing the concept of Islamic finance to students,” he stated.

As an initial implementation of the MoU, Bank Muamalat has awarded scholarships to seven underprivileged students for a period of two semesters. This program is a continuation of a previous scholarship distribution on 24 October 2024, which was granted to ten UBB students. The scholarships were symbolically handed over by Bank Muamalat to UBB and will subsequently be distributed to the scholarship recipients. (UBB Public Relations)
