EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — The “Veteran” Jakarta Pencak Silat Student Activity Unit (PSVJ) of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) won the Overall Champion I title in the Adult Category at the 2026 Indonesia Pencak Silat Banten Championship, held from August 28–30, 2026, at the Ciceri Youth Sports Hall in Serang, Banten. The UPNVJ contingent concluded the competition with an impressive haul of 25 medals, comprising 18 gold and seven silver medals across both combat and artistic categories.
The achievement fulfilled PSVJ’s target prior to the team’s departure. When the contingent was sent off by UPNVJ on Thursday (August 27, 2026), the team, consisting of 18 athletes and two coaches, had set its sights on winning the Overall Champion I title in the adult/student category by competing in various combat and artistic events.
The overall championship title demonstrates the consistency of PSVJ athletes in transforming their extensive preparation and training into achievements. Students from various faculties competed in men’s and women’s combat categories, as well as individual, pair, team, and creative solo artistic events.
A total of 17 students contributed to PSVJ UPNVJ’s medal tally at the championship. They represented various study programs across UPNVJ.

- Muhammad Riyadi Putra (Political Science, Student ID No. 2410413026) won silver in the Men’s Adult Class C Combat category, as well as gold in the Men’s Adult Team and Men’s Adult Pair Artistic categories.
- Dinara Safina (Bachelor’s in Information Science, Student ID No. 2410414066) won gold in the Women’s Adult Class A Combat and Women’s Adult Team Artistic categories.
- Nabilla Arinda Pasha (Bachelor’s in Development Economics, Student ID No. 2310115055) won gold in the Women’s Adult Under-45 Combat and Women’s Adult Team Artistic categories.
- Keisya Kinanti (Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy, Student ID No. 2510715002) contributed gold medals in the Women’s Adult Individual and Women’s Adult Creative Solo categories.
- Muhammad Alger Belgam Esfandiari (Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Student ID No. 2310311007) won gold in the Men’s Adult Class F Combat and Men’s Adult Team Artistic categories.
- Raisha Nur Zahra (Bachelor’s in Development Economics, Student ID No. 2310115112) won gold in the Women’s Adult Class B Combat and Women’s Adult Pair Artistic categories.
- Siti Nur Alliah (Bachelor’s in Management, Student ID No. 2410111058) won gold in the Women’s Adult Individual Artistic and Women’s Adult Team Artistic categories.
- Dinda Azka Aulia (Bachelor’s in Law, Student ID No. 2410611083) contributed gold medals in the Women’s Adult Creative Solo and Women’s Adult Pair Artistic categories.
- Jauza Prayata Arivianto (Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Student ID No. 2310311090) won gold in the Men’s Adult Team Artistic and Men’s Adult Individual Artistic categories.
- Ananda Daffa Putra Ramadhan (Bachelor’s in Management, Student ID No. 2410111033) won silver in the Men’s Adult Empty-Hand Individual Artistic category and gold in the Men’s Adult Pair Artistic category.
- Khadikunnuha (Bachelor’s in Development Economics, Student ID No. 2510115092) won silver in the Men’s Adult Class D Combat category and gold in the Men’s Adult Team Artistic category.
- Adzka Bardan Aflail (Bachelor’s in Development Economics, Student ID No. 2510115077) won silver in the Men’s Adult Class B Combat category and gold in the Men’s Adult Team Artistic category.
- Laila Fitriana (Bachelor’s in Accounting, Student ID No. 2410112047) won silver in the Women’s Adult Under-45 Combat category and gold in the Women’s Adult Pair Artistic category.
- Zaskya Aulia (Diploma III in Accounting, Student ID No. 2510102026) won silver in the Women’s Adult Class C Combat category.
- Ferrando Widiaputra (Bachelor’s in Informatics, Student ID No. 2410511147) won gold in the Men’s Adult Class A Combat and Men’s Adult Pair Artistic categories.
- Nurlaielly Fatimah Azzahra (Bachelor’s in Information Science, Student ID No. 2510414100) won silver in the Women’s Adult Class A Combat category and gold in the Women’s Adult Pair Artistic category.
The achievement marks an important milestone for PSVJ, as the contingent not only brought home dozens of medals but also secured the highest position in the adult-category standings. The accomplishment further highlights UPNVJ’s strength in the two main disciplines of pencak silat: combat proficiency and mastery of artistic events.
Prior to the competition, the athletes underwent additional training throughout August 2026 to further strengthen their techniques, physical fitness, teamwork, and competitive readiness. The contingent was accompanied by combat coach Rian Ariya Setya and artistic coach Riko Sanjaya.
During the contingent’s send-off ceremony, UPNVJ Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Dr. dr. Ria Maria Theresa, Sp.KJ., M.H., expressed her hope that the athletes would achieve their best results while upholding the good name of their alma mater. The Overall Champion I title secured three days later fulfilled both the team’s target and the university’s expectations.
PSVJ’s achievement adds to the positive record of UPNVJ students in non-academic fields while demonstrating that student activities can serve as a platform for developing discipline, sportsmanship, courage, teamwork, and perseverance. These values are also aligned with the principles of State Defense (Bela Negara), which form an integral part of UPNVJ’s institutional identity.
